Publisher’s cloth, pictorial dust jacket. - Exhibition ranging from the embroidered cloth enveloping the Psautier de Saint-Louis and a binding of blue silk with gold felu-de-lys on a manuscript presented to Louis XII, to contemporary bindings by Carmencho Arregui, Sylvie Ollivier, and Sün Everard. Although the exhibition was nominally all French, some foreign bindings were included, and beside books “an embroidered message from a Bastille prisoner, forbidden pen, ink and paper” (from a review in The Book Collector, Spring 1996, pp.91-92). ¶ Excellent, unmarked copy.
