Publisher’s pictorial wrappers. - Exhibition of sculpture, ivories, metalwork, and other objets d’art, illuminated manuscripts, paintings, textiles, pottery, arms and armour, from c. 1315 until after 1400. The almost 100 manuscripts (nos. 228-319) were selected and described by François Avril; “his text and catalogue notes [are] as remarkable a contribution to the subject and period as was Eric Millar’s in 1932” (from a notice in The Book Collector, Summer 1982, pp.218-219). ¶ Corners lightly rubbed; otherwise a very good copy.
