Publisher’s printed wrappers. - Catalogue for an exhibition of some sixty volumes from a collection of about 1000 American bindings assembled by the New York bookseller Michael Papantonio (1907-1978). Although many binding centres are not represented, for the first time a large number of early American bindings (61 catalogue entries) are illustrated and given attributions based on systematic research.
