Included were two copies of the 1531 Rome first edition of the Discorsi, the better copy from Fletcher of Saltoun’s library (item 2, £25,000); the 1540 Aldine editions of Il principe and Discorsi, bound together (items 5 and 17, £14,000), also from Fletcher of Saltoun’s library; and the first Florence editions of Il principe (Giunta 1532) and Discorsi (Giunta 1531), bound together (items 3 and 14, £32,000), from Horace Mann’s library. ¶ As new.
