[Stock catalogues, numbered series:] Catalogues 8 § 9 § 12-16 and Bulletins 1 § 3-6 § 9-47

Stony Stratford, Patrick King Rare Books, 1979-2012
Fifty-one catalogues (varying sizes, from 21 to 29 cm), as issued, in the publisher’s printed wrappers. - A fine run of the scholarly catalogues issued 1979-2012 by the late Patrick Joseph (”Paddy”) King (d. 2013). Except for a few catalogues on specific subjects, a wide range of stock is presented, with annotated copies, books in interesting bindings, or with interesting provenances, documents (especially travel diaries), printed ephemera, always featured. In our notes below, we have highlighted mostly early continental bindings, which were perhaps Patrick’s main focus. Of these he gives meticulous descriptions of lasting value. An almost-complete set: it lacks nine “Catalogues” (1-7; 10: A Miscellany; 11: Bibliography) and three “Bulletins” (2, 7-8). ¶ Very good, unmarked copies.
