Twelve catalogues (22.5 or 21 cm), as issued, in publisher’s pictorial wrappers. - Catalogues of books on books; Part VII included three copies of Pierre-Simon Fournier’s Manuel Typographique including one in printed wrappers, “accompanied by every known French treatise from Fertel to Thibaudeau… All this made it an outstanding contribution to printing history” (from a notice in The Book Collector, Spring 2004, p.91; Part VIII noticed in Summer 2004, pp.266-269). ¶ Good copies.

Publisher’s pictorial wrappers. - A catalogue of books condemned to destruction; of Bulls, Censures, Arrests du Conseil d’État, Mandements, and other instruments of repression; of documents dealing with the control of the press itself, etc., regarded by the editor of The Book Collector as “one of the most remarkable catalogues to have come our way” (reviewed Summer 1968, pp.200-204). ¶ Date stamp on cover, two pen annotations; corresponding marks in margins (pp.62, 107).
