Bloomsbury Auctions (Rome)

Libri e autografi (catalogue of an auction sale conducted by Bloomsbury Auctions, Rome, 6 December 2006)

Rome, Bloomsbury Auctions, 2006
(30 cm), 144 pp., illustrations (some in colour). 624 lots. Publisher’s printed wrappers. - Inaugural sale of Bloomsbury in Rome. Includes “Una collezione di legature” (lots 1-237) assembled by Arturo Dazza, “re dell’antiquariato” of Vercelli. “The books were honest: that is to say, they had been collected c. 1900-1930 and had escaped worse sophistication than repair or new endpapers of that date… The estimates were generally realistic and held up until a final surfeit of ‘Uffizzi della Settimana Santa’ proved too much” (from a saleroom report in The Book Collector, Spring 2007, pp.83-84). ¶ Unmarked copy.
