Pierre Bergé & associés (Paris)

Livres anciens et modernes, architecture : provenant de diverses collections privées (catalogue of an auction sale conducted by Pierre Bergé & associés with the expertise of Dominique Laucournet, Jean-Baptiste de Proyart, and Thierry Bodin, Drouot-Richelieu, Paris, 29 November 2006)

Paris, Pierre Bergé & associés, 2006
(27 cm), 192 (4) pp., illustrations (some in colour). 396 lots. Saleroom notice loosely inserted. Publisher’s printed wrappers. - The sale “was distinguished by a very fine binding, hitherto unrecorded, for Claude de l’Aubespine (with his characteristic inventory mark), attributed to the ‘binder of Mahieu’s Aesop’ rather than ‘Grolier’s last binder’; it made €90,000, and has gone appropriately to the Bibliothèque Mazarine; two very interesting lots, together most of Beaumarchais’s printed works in many contemporary editions and a special collection on the ‘procés Beaumarchais’, inexplicably failed to sell” (from a saleroom report in The Book Collector, Spring 2007, pp.79-80). ¶ Annotated copy, partly priced.
