Publisher’s printed wrappers. - The sale included a group of eighty-eight incunables, the best (lot 49) Jordanus de Quedlinburg Meditationes de vita et passione Christi (Lübeck 1494), bought by Pickering & Chatto for Percy Nils Barnevik. Barnevik also bought the nine Pillone books with painted fore-edges or pen and ink drawings on vellum covers (lots 89-97), through the agency of Pierre Berès.
