Publisher’s printed wrappers. - The Moller Florilegium is album of 207 drawings by Hans Simon Holtzbecker (d. 1671) depicting flowers in the private garden of Barthold Moller of Hamburg (1605-1667). The album was acquired at Christie’s for £551,500 by the Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Hamburg, which has another album recording plants in the same garden. A third album is in the Oak Spring Garden Library of the late Rachel Lambert Mellon (L. Tongiorgi Tomasi, in An Oak Spring flora: flower illustration from the fifteenth century to the present time, Upperville, VA & New Haven 1997, no. 81). ¶ Unmarked copy.
