Publisher’s printed wrappers. - The Ince-Blundell Hours, made at Bruges or Ghent c. 1510 by a leading Flemish illuminator, the Master of the David Scenes in the Grimani Breviary, made £276,500 (with Heribert Tenschert in 2003-2004; exhibited in Los Angeles and in London: Illuminating the Renaissance: The Triumph of Flemish Manuscript Painting in Europe, Los Angeles 2003, pp.387-389 no. 115). The 1482 Bologna Hebrew Pentateuch, the editio princeps of the Torah, made £342,500; Albrizzi’s Tasso of 1745 in a fine binding by Etienne Anguerrand made £56,500. Sale includes property consigned by the Executors of Edward Stanley, 18th Earl of Derby (1918-1994). ¶ Annotated copy, partly priced.
