Publisher’s printed wrappers. - Includes an “Apollo and Pegasus” binding, consigned by Michel Wittock (lot 59, £221,500); Brustolon, Prospectuum aedium (1762), bound for Doge Foscarini (lot 5, £31,050, to Chiesa). Some writing books consigned by the Society for Italic Handwriting “sadly failed to sell” (saleroom report in The Book Collector, Spring 1997, p.107). Also sold was property from a collection formed by the banker Ernest Gutzwiller (1891-1976). ¶ Copiously annotated copy, partly priced.
