Additional books from the Schönborn-Buchheim library were offered in a Reiss sale in 1994 of Economics and Political science (although not designated “Schönborn-Buchheim IV”). Publisher's printed wrappers. - “This vast collection… was in notably fresh and unsophisticated condition. Any book in a fine binding or contemporary colouring (and there were many) did correspondingly well. Three spectacularly well-preserved Parisian fanfare bindings of the 1560s multiplied their estimate by ten, making DM350,000 together, while a composite atlas made for the family in Antwerp in 1718 and bound there in red morocco made DM110,000. The scientific books, more than one of which came from the library of Joachim Rheticus, did well too” (from a saleroom report in The Book Collector, Autumn 1994, pp.413-414. ¶ Annotated copy.
