Publisher’s pictorial wrappers. - Albert Phiebig emigrated to the USA in 1939 and in 1947 became proprietor of an antiquarian bookstore in White Plains, NY. His collection of Elzevier imprints was purchased on the eve of the sale by the “Elsevier Heritage Collection”, the corporate collection of Reed-Elsevier. It is now exhibited at their headquarters in Amsterdam and is accessible via an electronic catalogue; cf. P.G.
