Publisher’s pictorial wrappers. - Catalogue of the collection assembled by Cornelius Hauck (1893-1967), bequeathed in 1966 to the Cincinnati Historical Society Library, and controversially consigned to Christie’s by the Cincinnati Museum Center. The highlight of the sale was the album amicorum (or “Stammbuch”) of Philipp Hainhofer (1578-1647), an illuminated manuscript on vellum and paper in German, Italian, Latin and French, 1596-1633, which realized $2,368,000 (to Maggs, reputedly for the Wormsley Library).
