Publisher’s printed wrappers. - Among the 195 “duplicates” were 30 incunabula, including nine from the Venetian presses of Vindelinus de Spira and Nicolaus Jenson, among them illuminated copies of the 1470 Augustine De Civitate Dei and 1472 Jenson Pliny (the former made £4400 to Chiesa; the latter failed to reach its reserve, and was bought in at £11,000).
