Publisher’s printed wrappers. - The highest price of the day was paid by the New York bookseller John Fleming, when he acquired for £9500 Antonio Pigafetta’s account of Magellan’s Voyage, published at Paris in 1525 (lot 85); Fleming bought another 24 lots, and his purchases amounted to £67,555 (the total of the 107 lots was £109,851).
