Publisher’s printed wrappers. - The superbly preserved Parisian polychrome binding for Count Mansfeld (lot 172) was consigned by Prince Antoine de Ligne (1925-2005). It was purchased by Maggs (for Sir Paul Getty) after a long battle with Bernard Breslauer (The Wormsley Library: A Personal Selection by Sir Paul Getty, London & New York 1999, no. 30). ¶ Annotated copy, partly priced.
