Publisher’s printed wrappers. - Included were a genuine autograph letter of Luther (written in February 1532 to the Elector of Saxony, bought by Sawyer for £36,720) and a manuscript prayer from the pen of the infamous Luther-forger Hermann Kyrieleis, c. 1893-1898 (bought by Patrick King for £453). Kraus paid £367,200 for two leaves from a Gospel Book or Lectionary (containing Matthew 8:23-27 and 8:28), with three full-page miniatures, attributed to Canterbury, circa 1000 (now Getty Museum, Ms. 9 and 85.MS.79; The J. Paul Getty Museum Journal, volume 14, 1986, pp.202-203 no. 98). ¶ Annotated copy. No price list.
