Publisher’s pictorial wrappers. - A critical catalogue of about 550 etchings and engravings by the Carracci family, or after their works, identifying different states, variants, copies, etc. Most of the prints were once in the collection of Massimiliano Ortalli (1742-1833); a transcription of previously unpublished manuscript notes on them, by the Parmese connoisseur and collector Pietro Zani (1748-1821), is appended. ¶ Excellent, unmarked copy.
