(25.5 cm), issue of Biblion: The Bulletin of the New York Public Library (volume 1, number 2, Spring 1993). - Important essay describing a set of twenty prints of the Garden of Perfect Brightness (Yuanmingyuan) engraved by some Chinese students of the Jesuit missionary Giuseppe Castiglione (1688-1766) after preparatory drawings by Yi Lantai (active 1749-1786). The dating of these prints is controversial; a reference recently discovered (1988) in Chinese archives indicates they were printed in 1786. ¶ Good, unmarked copy.
