Publisher’s pictorial wrappers. - “This collection has been formed over a period of more than forty years and includes carefully chosen examples from many of the great cabinets of the nineteenth century or earlier. It can claim to be one of the most important collections of British medals ever offered for sale, containing as it does examples from the fifteenth to the late eighteenth centuries of which a number are unique” (from Catalogue foreword). The anonymous consignor was the retired dealer Cyril Humphris (his “Collection of Renaissance and later Medals formed by Cyril Humphris” was sold by Sotheby’s, London, 3 October 1996). ¶ Unmarked copy.
