Fifty-eight volumes (28 cm), as issued, uniformly bound in publisher’s cloth, printed dust jackets. - A near-complete set of the Hollstein Dutch & Flemish series, comprising volumes 1 through 58 (Louis Abry - Anthony van Zylvelt). Lacking is a series of eleven volumes on the Wierix Family (vols. 59-71, published 2003-2007) and the Index to volumes I-LXXI (published 2010); these are obtainable from Sound & Vision Publishers, priced €465 per volume. At the time of writing (February 2014), twenty-nine volumes of this series (vols. 1-17, 20-26, 30-32, 34, 36) have passed out of print. Opportunities to obtain the early volumes in uniformly fine condition are becoming rare. ¶ Dust jackets on the earlier volumes spotted (spines only), chipped, some small losses; otherwise an exceptionally fresh set with few signs of use. Provenance: Maria Conradt (Das Bücherkabinett, Hamburg), sale by Zisska & Kistner, Auktion 30, Munich, 28-31 October 1997, lot 2324 (vols. 1-41, 44-46); the publishers (vols. 42-43, 47-58).
