Publisher’s pictorial wrappers. - With one exception, all of the 365 wood and metal cuts described were selected from the Rosenwald Collection (then still located in Rosenwald’s gallery at Alverthorpe, but bequeathed to the National Gallery). Contains a preface by Rosenwald on the art of collecting prints and a long introductory essay by Field on the history early woodcuts. The prints have been organised according to their subject-matter. ¶ Very good, unmarked copy.
