Publisher’s pictorial wrappers. - Catalogue of the first ever exhibition of Ribera’s prints in Spain. The text (in Spanish and English) is a revised version of the relevant section of the author’s Jusepe de Ribera: Prints and Drawings (Princeton 1973). Two controversial prints, previously rejected, are here accepted: The Lamentation (no. 17) and Cupid whipping a Satyr (no. 18); the rest of Brown’s rejected attributions remain unchanged. A provisional census of impressions is provided. ¶ Excellent, unmarked copy.
