Uniform publisher’s printed wrappers. - Fascicules 1-2 (of 5) of the interim catalogue of the Aldine collection at the University of California, Los Angeles. 223 entries. The two frontispieces reproduce illuminated pages in the blue-paper copy of the 1514 Aldine Vergil (ex-Lionel Robinson sale, Sotheby’s, 26 June 1986, lot 128) and in Grolier’s 1521 Polybius (ex-John M. Crawford Jr; Zeitlin & Verbrugge c. 1979); the other plates reproduce bindings, and marginalia, including annotations by Pietro Vettori (1499-1585) in a copy of the 1515 Dante (ex-Loeffelholz von Colberg collection). ¶ Fine copies.
