Bound in blue cloth, a collector’s binding. - Lord Westbury has chosen to record here books of gastronomic interest printed in Italian, although he collected books in all languages, and possessed the second and third editions of the first printed cookery book (Platina’s De honesta voluptate, Venice 1475 and Cividale 1480). The “Westbury collection of cookery books” was sold by Sotheby & Co., 15-16 February 1965 (507 lots). ¶ Two leaves partly stuck together by binder’s adhesive; otherwise a very good copy.
