Italian drawings in the Art Institute of Chicago
Chicago & London, University of Chicago Press, 1979
(27 cm), xvii (1), 202 pp., illustrations. Publisher’s pictorial wrappers. - Catalogue of a small selection (151, of some 650) of the Art Institute’s Italian drawings. The glory of the selection, and probably of the collection as a whole, is a series of portraits by Piazzetta (ex-collection of Johann Matthias von der Schulenburg); also notable is a group of drawings by members of the Tiepolo family, including perhaps the earliest surviving drawing by Giambattista. ¶ Excellent, unmarked copy.
