Catalogue of books printed on the continent of Europe, 1501-1600, in Cambridge libraries
Cambridge, Cambridge University Press, 1967
Two volumes (26 cm), I: viii, 768 pp. II: (4) 794 (2) pp. Uniform publisher’s cloth, printed dust jackets. - A catalogue modelled on the British Museum short-title catalogues, but supplying fuller imprints and dates. The compiler’s decision to provide signature collations and to compile elaborate indices of “Printers” and of “Places, with printers” (pp.261-795) has resulted in a work of inestimable value to everyone handling 16th-century books. ¶ One dust jacket chipped; a superior copy with minimal traces of use and no marks of ownership.
